First of all, this class is class on French Linguistics and I thought I was getting to learn more about syntax, which I first began learning about in my IAH 231C course last year. I was wrong.

The main theme of the class was that of identity, how we deal with it when we’re “displaced,” and why it’s important to hold on to where we’re from. This was a real eye-opener especially when I thought I would just be learning different styles of the French language.
